‘Tis the Season for Shopping

Kendall Jenner

As we know, trends come and go with startling speed. This winter season, or more importantly, this fashion season, there are a few key trends that will keep you looking and feeling on point, without committing to any micro-trends, or breaking the bank. Here are our top picks to elevate your winter wardrobe with ease.

Tartan
Tartan is so on trend right now and feels so seasonal, it almost doesn’t matter what item you buy. We love a pleated skirt that sits somewhere between geek-chic and cozy winter kilt, paired with thick tights and some heeled boots or loafers; a tartan skirt can easily take you from day to night and back again. Not to mention, if you buy a proper woolen tartan (which we highly recommend instead of a lighter fabric that’s been printed in imitation), it will keep you toasty all winter.

A Huge Scarf
Another practical piece, a scarf, will be the cherry on top of your whole look, bringing it together and giving it a little pizzazz. Last year the Toteme Scarf-Coat went viral on TikTok (a cozy coat with a built-in scarf), and this year the trendy notion of bundling up in a blanket-like scarf or jacket is just as appealing.
Scarves are a winter layering essential, so this is the season to invest in a good one that will see you through the year.

Shop the trend:

A Big Bag
Practicality is winning this winter. Swap out your micro-handbag for a big, cross-body option that gives you all the space you need for winter essentials and plenty of shopping, and looks great at the same time.

Valentino Fall 2023 Ready-to-Wear Collection

A Tie
If you hadn’t already heard, Indie-sleaze is back, and with it comes the humble tie. We’ve seen them adorning the belt loops of the Gen-Z fashion crowd for the last few years, but now high fashion is getting involved. ‘Valentino Black Tie’, the house's recent show, named itself on the trend, and black ties were also spotted on the runways of Alexander McQueen, Carolina Herrera, and Dior. Pair it with your work shirt to bring your suit into 2023, or wear it loose and slouchy with a tee for that Tumblr 2010s vibe.

Shop the trend:

Hair Bows
Bows are a trend in clothing right now too, but the easiest way to get in on the trend this season (and arguably the cutest too) is to add some bows to your hair - either with a selection from the array of bow clips and accessories or by collecting a Christmas present cut off and tying it through your hairband yourself.
