Un’Altra Scena: Dedu
Naples is a city that pulses with life.
It’s the oldest heart of Italy, yet somehow its youngest soul - a maze of streets where art isn’t a luxury but a necessity. Where music isn’t just entertainment, but a cry, a prayer, a way out. It’s in this creative, vibrant, and often underground magma that Altra Scena Agency was born, curated by Benedetta De Martinis: a project that chose to listen to what the music industry so often overlooks: the true voice of emerging artists, the real ones, and their urgent need to tell their stories.
Altra Scena isn’t just an agency - it’s a manifesto.
A love letter to music rooted in Naples. Founded to give space and dignity to that raw, underground talent, it works every day to build a bridge between the city and the world. Promotion, management, artistic direction; guided by a clear and powerful mission, Altra Scena protects the artists’ essence, giving them the tools to rise without losing themselves along the way. Among the artists on the roster, one voice stands out - a voice that reaches the heart even when it whispers: DEDU, born Eduardo Pizzo in ’97.
Raised in the streets of Naples, DEDU is the perfect example of the kind of inner drive Altra Scena wants to amplify. He calls himself a “scugnizzo triste” (a sad street kiddo who’s lived a tough life, but never lost touch with his tender heart).
His music blends pop, trap, and hip hop, but more than fitting into a genre, Eduardo builds an emotional skin that shifts with whatever he’s feeling.
He brings to the stage a version of Naples that’s not a postcard, but something raw in its simplicity - alive, real, imperfect, and not always easy to digest.
This is UN’ALTRA SCENA. But maybe, it’s the right one.
DEDU: a stage name with a sweet, almost childlike sound, like a lullaby. But behind it is the story of an inner child now raised by a self-aware adult who carries all of life’s lessons with him onto the stage.
“Dedu is an artist name, but also a nickname I’ve had for as long as I can remember.
My older brothers came up with it as a playful way to shorten my name, and it’s stuck with me from preschool to high school. Everyone who knows me calls me Dedu - and a lot of people don’t even know my real name. I try my best to stay connected to my inner child, even though society often makes it hard”.
His latest single is called “Siamo angeli” (we are angels). But what kind of wings do angels grow in the narrow alleys of Naples? Are they wings made for flight -light as hope- or heavy, like promises that never came true?
“I don’t think one excludes the other. Actually, I believe hope can’t exist without the bad moments - and vice versa”.

DEDU calls himself a “scugnizzo triste”, but anyone from Naples knows there’s a kind of beautiful melancholy in appocundria - a sadness that watches, that listens.
“I say I’m a scugnizzo triste because I laugh with teary eyes, because I suffer but still fight, because I know love and I know what it means to miss it. I know everything passes. Tenderness is born where pain turns into music”.
Naples is an emotional map. How important are your roots, and where do you want to take them with your music?
“My roots are in the alleyways, the neighborhoods, the voices of people in the streets of Naples. With my music, I want to show a living, breathing Naples - not just the picture-perfect one”.
Eduardo’s music is a gentle battle between different styles - a fusion of pop and rap rooted in a rich, diverse musical culture.
“The language is chosen by the emotions. If I need raw truth, rap comes out. If I’m feeling nostalgic, it's the melody that saves me.
Three albums that changed my life are “Marracash” by Marracash - because it’s raw and honest, just like I’ve always felt.
Then, “Vita Bona” by Co’Sang - the first album I learned by heart, the one I connected with emotionally.
And finally, “?” or “17” by XXXTentacion - albums that were with me as I grew up”.
There’s a spark of hope behind “Siamo Angeli”. And in a world that forces you to be rational, hoping is a radical act.
“What gives me hope are the little things - everyday life. A song that moves you. The eyes of someone you love. And even if it’s become a revolutionary thing, I still believe in the power of hope - and in love. It’s because of those two feelings that I choose not to rush with the chaos of the world”.
Who is DEDU when he steps off the stage, when the mic is off? What’s left of you when the music goes quiet?
“Dedu offstage is still Dedu. Always the same. A guy who’s always had too many questions, who’s afraid like everyone else, and who gets emotional over a small act of love. A melancholic soul - but one who will always fight for love”.
